Sustainable development strategy for diamond mining in Lunda, a healthy community

Introduction: The concept of sustainable development has been widely debated, although the causes of environmental degradation and the emergence of poverty belts, which seriously compromise the natural resources of each country, are not fully considered.
Objective: To expand the importance of designing a sustainable development strategy for diamond mining in Lunda Sul for a healthy community.
Materials and methods: This research adopts a qualitative and exploratory approach based on the social studies of science and technology. Qualitative methods are used to understand the interactions between science, technology, and society in the context of mining in Lunda Sul, exploring how these factors influence the sustainability of mining practices.
Results: Health and other services must shift from a focus on individual treatment to one focused on the community and promoting a healthy community. It is not just a matter of reorienting health services, but rather all services so that they work together toward the goal of a healthy community.
Conclusions: The great challenge for sustainable development in Lunda Sul is the implementation of a sustainable diamond mining development strategy for a healthy community. This strategy, where the use of a non-renewable resource and the use of technological knowledge can create other economic alternatives that will enable the needs of future generations when current diamond deposits are depleted, is essential.
