CARACTERIZACIÓN DE LA METODOLOGÍA DEL OBSERVATORIO DE RECURSOS HUMANOS EN LA ESCUELA LATINOAMERICANA DE MEDICINA

Abstract

Introduction: A methodological proposal for studies on graduates from Higher Education Institutions is relevant because the information obtained enables monitoring of graduates. Furthermore, knowledge about their impact on the environment provides input for evaluating the quality and relevance of academic programs, which are justified by their contributions to the development of society.

Objective: To characterize the methodology of the Human Resources Observatory at the Latin American School of Medicine.

Method: A mixed-method research approach is proposed, employing empirical methods such as participant observation and documentary analysis, and theoretical methods such as analysis-synthesis, inductive-deductive analysis, and logical-historical analysis.

Results: Through the implementation of an updated methodology, the Observatory will provide timely information for conducting evaluations and assessments of students and alumni, both in Cuba and abroad, as well as for understanding the impact of the project's work in their countries and regions, strengthening ties with other health sciences institutions around the world.

Conclusions: The methodology applied in the Project was not sufficient to achieve the objectives set for monitoring graduates and analyzing their impact. By characterizing this methodology, it will be possible to consolidate and redesign the ELAM Human Resources Observatory Project, including monitoring its students.
